So Comforting

I love these verses in Isaiah, chapter 40:28-31.

"Have you not known?  Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary.  His understanding is unsearchable.  He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.  Even the youths shall faith and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

I know several dear people who are going through awful times right now.   From sickness to emotional stress and difficulties, yet I have seen them grow in the Lord and look to Him for encouragement and guidance.  That is just so amazing to me.  I see them suffer through their terrible struggles and difficulties, and they are happier than most people I know who are very well off.  Why is that?!  It does not seem to make sense?  Well, to the rest of the world it doesn't, but to the one who is a follower of Christ, it sure does.

They are choosing to look to the One who alone will give them the strength they need to get by each and every day.  I am not saying that they do not have days when they are feeling terrible and discouraged, for I do know they have those days, but they are choosing to focus on the Truth that is contained in God's word, and through that comes an abundance of JOY!  As seen here in this passage in Isaiah, believers are to wait upon their God and to trust in Him.  Yes, it may not be easy, and it never says it will be, but it is what we MUST do. He will bless His children with an abundance of peace that surpasses all understanding.  He is our shepherd, and we are His sheep.  He will take care of us and comfort us!

Are you waiting upon the Lord?

Have a great beginning of your week! :)
